Bridges

We are stock piling our loose parts in our outside play area, and it's starting to take shape.
We had been busy digging a hole in our digging patch and the interest in it has waned a bit, after all, the rain held off last week, and what fun is a hole with no water in it???? So one simple plank of wood has put a new lease on life for that lonely hole!

I had sent my dad on a bit of a mission to collect pallets for some added dimension to our loose part play, and we scored a good number of them. We're excited to show off our little bridge that we made.

It's perfect for storing little bits and pieces.

And for running up and down on.

We did learn that we have to watch our feel because some of the strips are spaced further apart than others, so our feet have been known to get caught between the rungs.

Stepping up on them is quite a challenge for some of our younger ones, but determination adds to the fun!

It makes a great little rest spot too.

Oh, and this is little more material that we have acquired. They are the ends from a cable reel. The children have been figuring out what these can be for, and one child discovered that our shovel fits right in the hole making a neat little axle and wheel set.
